A mother's wicked plan
Episode 11 A mother's wicked plan The Final Attempt Mama Ebere was boiling with anger. She had tried everything to stop Nneka, but nothing worked. Now, she was desperate. That night, while everyone was asleep, she sneaked into Nneka’s room, shook her awake, and whispered, "Follow me." Nneka, still half-asleep, obeyed. Mama Ebere led her outside, past the backyard, into the dark night. "Mama, where are we going?" Nneka asked, scared. "You will see," Mama Ebere said coldly. They walked for a long time until they reached a thick bush near the village river. Suddenly, Mama Ebere turned and grabbed Nneka’s hand tightly. "You will not disgrace me!" she hissed. "If you disappear, this whole scholarship nonsense will end." Nneka’s heart pounded. Disappear? Before she could react, Mama Ebere pushed her toward the riverbank. Nneka stumbled, almost falling into the deep water. "Mama, please!" she cried, tears streaming down her face. "I am your daughter!" "I have only one daughter, and that is Ada!" Mama Ebere screamed. Just then, a voice shouted from behind. "Nwakaego! What are you doing?" It was Papa Ebere. He had woken up and noticed Nneka missing. He had followed them. Mama Ebere froze. Nneka ran to her father, shaking. Papa Ebere looked at his wife with pure disgust. "I have been patient with you, but this is the end. You are wicked beyond words." He turned to Nneka. "Go inside and pack your things. You are leaving this house tomorrow." Mama Ebere watched in shock. "You dare take her away?" Papa Ebere didn’t answer. He held Nneka’s hand and walked away, leaving Mama Ebere standing alone in the darkness.
